Not only will they last for years but they are machine washable and require no liner. The weight of the fabric prevents it from billowing inwards, making your shower appear larger. I bought the "natural" shower curtain for our guest bathroom about eight months ago and absolutely love it. Our bathroom only has a fan--it does not have windows, so you can imagine our problems with mold. We had a plastic shower curtain that always got red mold on it even after the shortest of showers--such a pain to wipe off and clean. This curtain is perfect because:

1) I wash it whenever I want.
2) It never gets mold.
3) It doesn't need a liner.
4) It fits the design/look of my bathroom.
5) I have one less plastic product made in China in my house.

I recommend washing the curtain once you receive it because it will shrink about 4-6 inches. For standard shower/tub combos, you will want that because otherwise your shower curtain will hit your bathroom floor and scrunch up in your tub. Once my curtain shrunk, it hung perfectly. As for care--the first time I washed it on warm as instructed. Since then, I've only washed it on cold.

For those with interior design concerns, I've got a beach-style to my guest bathroom so "natural" worked well for my taste. My mom wants one for her newly remodeled British-colonial style bathroom (think of the movie "Out-of-Africa") and she's looking at "white" and "natural", as well. I'm pretty sure "white" would look good anywhere.

I really love this shower curtain. Before you freak out that the size is too big, stick it in the washer and dryer. Like the description says, expect 10-15% shrinkage. If you have an oversize shower, you might want to try it first because you can always air dry it to avoid it shrinking too much. -- Excellent Quality

I like this shower curtain - it's a great thick heavy fabric, but I think maybe when I washed it at first it shrunk a couple of inches? It's shorter than my liner. But it still looks nice, and with the liner on the inside of the shower you can hardly tell. -- It shrunk??
